MET Gala 2019: Ranveer Singh Is Totally Smitten By Deepika Padukone’s ‘Camp Barbie’ Look
Deepika Padukone's 'Camp Barbie' look at the MET Gala 2019 has impressed Ranveer Singh immensely and he just cannot stop commenting on her pictures
On Monday evening, Deepika Padukone sashayed on the red carpet of MET Gala 2019 in a Zac Posen strapless metallic pink lurex jacquard gown embellished with 3D printed pieces meant to resemble embroidery. The theme was Camp: Notes on Fashion and Dippy’s Barbie look found many takers. While, some called it a very ‘safe’ option, others thought the actress looked utterly gorgeous.
Amongst her admirers also happens to be hubby Ranveer Singh who is totally smitten. He couldn’t hold himself back as he started commenting on her pictures on social media. Ranveer wrote, "Come on Barbie, let's go party" in reference to the hit 1997 track "Barbie girl" by Aqua. His comment was accompanied with a wink and lip emoji. On other posts, he wrote "Queen" and "Unreal" and sent his love in the form of heart emojis.
The Simmba star also commented on Deepika's images that were shared by her stylist Shaleena Nathani. In one of the pictures, that Nathani shared, Ranveer commented: "Love it! Smashing!" and on another one, he wrote "Stunner!"
In sync with this year's theme "Camp: Notes on Fashion", Deepika stepped out in an exaggerated version of Barbie. She added drama to her look with a voluminous high ponytail adding a little sparkle with the bejewelled pink hair band, dramatic burgundy lips and purple eye make-up. She completed her look with a pair of diamond earrings and a statement cuff.
For the after party, the actress opted for a body-hugging neon green gown with a black printed pullover with high heels. She completed the look with blue-coloured earrings. The actress was spotted chilling with actress Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, Nina Dobrev and fashion designer Prabal Gurung at the after party. Unfortunately, the actress’ slightly visible bump in the pictures led to speculations of her pregnancy online.
On the work front, Deepika will be seen in Chhapaak which is based on the real story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Her first look from the film left everyone speechless. Ranveer, on the other hand is prepping up for 83’ which follows the real journey of India's cricketing victory against West Indies in the World Cup of 1983. Apart from this film, Mr Singh also has the multi-starrer, Takht.
